Sunday is my day to rest after six super busy days.
I woke up late, had my coffee, and took some time to relax. I had slept for a long time, but somehow I was still sleepy! I guess I was still recovering from last night’s gig at the livehouse.
After my coffee, I cleaned the house and then invited my son to have lunch with me in Kawagoe, Saitama. I was craving my favorite ramen here in Japan, so we went to Torizen Ramen, part of the Isshizen chain, which is known for its rich and thick chicken broth.

Their ramen is absolutely delicious! The broth is chicken-based, and when I order it, I like to add lots of toppings—spinach, chicken, pork or tonkotsu, green onions, boiled egg, and more.
You can also squeeze some fresh lemon into the ramen, which makes it even more delicious. If you like garlic, they also provide fresh raw garlic that you can squeeze into your bowl using a little garlic press. So good!
Even their drinking water has lemon in it, which I really enjoy.

I really love this ramen shop. Usually, when we eat at other ramen restaurants, I don’t finish all the soup. But here at Torizen, I actually finish the whole bowl because the soup is just that delicious! 😋
Whenever I don’t feel like cooking and I’m craving ramen, Torizen is one of my favorite places to go. A perfect lunch for my much-needed Sunday rest day!
