The 12 Zodiac Animals at Heisei no Mori Park

Heisei no Mori Park Travels

I often come here to Heisei no Mori Park in Kawajima Town, Saitama. 🌳🌿

It’s only about a 10-minute drive from our home since the park is right here in the town where I live. The park is spacious and beautiful, with a fountain right in the center.

Surrounding the fountain at the center of Heisei no Mori Park are 12 large stones, each engraved with one of the 12 animals of the Japanese zodiac.

The 12 zodiac animals are the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Boar.

The Japanese zodiac, known as Eto (干支), is based on a traditional cycle of 12 animals. Each animal represents a year and is associated with different characteristics and meanings.

These beautifully engraved stones make the fountain area more interesting and give visitors a chance to discover the traditional Japanese zodiac while enjoying a relaxing walk around the park.

⛲ I love coming here to relax, enjoy nature, and simply take a break from my busy days. This is one of my favorite places to unwind. 💚
