Finally Removing the Old Tree Stump

Tree stump Gardening

This tree stump had been buried in the middle of my garden for years. I couldn’t remove it because the roots were firmly attached deep underground.
New shoots would often grow from the stump, so I would simply cut them off to keep them from growing bigger. I didn’t want to use chemicals just to kill the tree.

One day, while talking with a friend about my problem, she gave me a simple idea. She told me to paint the tree stump. According to her, covering it with paint would prevent sunlight from reaching it, and little by little, the stump would die.

So I tried it! Luckily, I still had some leftover paint from when I painted my living room wall.
I left the stump painted for quite some time. Eventually, I noticed that no new shoots were growing anymore. One day, when I pushed the stump, I noticed that it had started to move a little.

I couldn’t wait any longer, so I decided to dig it out.
When I finally removed it, I could see that some of the roots had already started to rot and become thinner. I’m so glad I talked to my friend, because otherwise, this stump might still be sitting here in my garden today!

This tree was actually a beautiful tree. I was the one who cut it down after it started leaning because of a strong typhoon.I started by cutting the smaller branches first. Then I used a saw to cut the larger branches. Little by little, I worked my way down until only the tree stump was left.

It used to provide wonderful shade right in the middle of my garden. Unfortunately, I can’t remember the name of the tree anymore.

You can see in the photo how badly it had started to lean.

Now that I’ve finally removed the tree stump, I can start my garden makeover!
My garden had been neglected for a long time because I had an accident that left me with two broken bones in my spine. I wasn’t able to move around properly for several years, so taking care of the garden became difficult.

But now, I’m really excited to bring my garden back to life! 🪴🌿
I may be moving slowly, and I’m also busy with many other things, so I’ll be doing the makeover little by little.
But that’s okay. There’s no need to rush.
I’m just happy that I can finally work on my garden again. ❤️
